1. Our Commitment

The Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Skills and Simulation Network is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute. We celebrate diversity and actively promote equality across all aspects of our work.

We welcome individuals and organisations regardless of age, disability, gender identity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or any other protected characteristic.

2. Our Principles

We strive to:

  • Champion inclusivity in clinical education and simulation practice

  • Ensure fair access to opportunities, resources, and events

  • Recognise and value diverse perspectives in decision-making and collaboration

  • Challenge discrimination and bias wherever they occur

  • Promote cultural competence and respectful communication across our network

3. Our Practice

To uphold these principles, we will:

  • Embed EDI considerations into all network activities, including meetings, workshops, and communications

  • Encourage diverse representation in leadership, speaker panels, and working groups

  • Provide accessible venues and materials for all participants

  • Offer training and resources to support inclusive teaching and facilitation

  • Regularly review our policies and practices to ensure they reflect current standards and community needs

4. Accountability

All members of the network—individuals and organisations—are expected to uphold this policy. Concerns or suggestions related to equality, diversity, or inclusion can be raised confidentially with the Joint Chair.
